New Chief Constable Appointed

The Los Santos Police Department has appointed a new Chief Constable.

 

Today, Kurt Arnold was given the promotion of Chief Constable outside of City Hall during a ceremony led by Superintendent Saxon. This marks the LSPD's second Chief Constable since the start of the LSPD in 2012.

 

After the ceremony, Superintendent Saxon praised the new Chief Constable and stated "Today is a day for celebration, as Chief Constable Arnold, one of our original members who joined us from the very start when we were first created in 2012, has finally earned a title he deserves. His tireless efforts and determination of the past three years have been staggering and myself and Chief Inspector Ford warmly welcome him onto the Senior Leadership Team and look forward to working with him to help keep Los Santos safe."

A new piece of legislation has been brought into place to help keep Los Santos safe.

 

The Public Order Act, launched by the Senioer Leadership Team, is a piece of legislation with several acts relating to public order. You can read the Public Order Act here:

 

Section 1

Rioting: It must be proven that 12 or more persons are involved in the offence and that they are all present together in thee same location and have used or threatened unlawful violence.

 

Section 2

Violent Disorder: It must be proven that 3 or more persons are involved and present together in the same location and have used or have threatened to use unlawful violence.

 

Section 3

Affray: When 2 or more persons are using or theatening to use unlawful violence, being verbally abusive towards each other or other bystanders, make a person fear for their own personal safety or are behaving in an anti-social manner in a public area.

 

Section 4

Abuse Towards Bystanders and Public Servants: This is when a person is making threat towards innocent bystanders or individuals carrying out public services such as police work and medical care. Someone will also breach Section 4 by launching projectiles such as rocks, bottles, molotovs, and other such things towards an innocent bystander or those carrying out public services.

 

Section 5

Public Disturbance: A person can breach this section by causing a disturbance in a public area, persisstently shouting obscenities at members of the public, behaving in a rowdy manner in a public area late at night or by causing a disturbance which can make bystanders fear for their own personal safety.

 

Section 18

Racism: This applies to any person using threatening or abusive language in a racial manner, expressing unwanted behavior with racial intentions or displaying written material of a racist context

 

Section 20

Facial Coverings: During cerain incidents such as riots, terrorist attacks, and other such scenarios, this section prohibits the wearing of facial coverings such as masks, hoodies, bandanas, etc. Police will make the public aware that this act is in place and the reasons for it and anyone who continues to breach it can be lawfully arrested.
